We are seeking a Power Solutions Engineer to join our team and assist in analysing, troubleshooting, and improving power quality in electrical systems. This role involves supporting senior engineers in monitoring, diagnosing, and mitigating power disturbances to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimize system performance. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electrical engineering concepts, power quality principles, and a keen interest in energy efficiency and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting power quality studies, including harmonic analysis, voltage fluctuations, and transient disturbances.

• Support the deployment and operation of power quality monitoring equipment.

• Analyse power quality data to identify issues and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Work with customers and internal teams to assess power disturbances and develop solutions.

• Assist in designing and implementing corrective measures such as filters, capacitors, static VAR generators, active power filters, voltage regulators and UPS.

• Prepare technical reports and documentation on power quality assessments, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.

• Check compliance with industry standards such as NRS048-2:2007, IEEE519:2022, and utility regulations.

• Stay updated on emerging power quality technologies and best practices.

• Participate in site visits, field testing, and system commissioning as needed.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for power quality issues in customer facilities.

• Work closely with field service engineers to deploy and monitor power quality solutions.

• Offer training and guidance to clients on best practices for maintaining optimal power quality.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of power quality issues such as harmonics, voltage sags/swells, flicker, and transients.

• Familiarity with power quality analysis tools (e.g., Elspec PQ analysers, Elspec Sapphire SCADA Software or other Power Quality Analysers) is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

• Willingness to travel for fieldwork and project support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or academic project experience in power quality or electrical systems.

• Understanding of utility power systems, industrial power networks, and renewable energy integration.

• Exposure to power electronic solutions for power quality improvement.
